Some Methods of Strength Training
Strength training may have started with just doing the daily push-up routine, but now various strength training equipment is available along with multiple ways to use it. Along with specific exercise, weight training with the use of dumbbells or plates is widely used. Here the use of dumbbells or plates lifted a various number of repetitions within sets progressively overload the muscles and make them stronger. Weightlifting has grown into a sport today in which men and women compete for recognition and prizes.Another means of strength training is resistance training. For this, effort is exerted against an opposing force. If the force is immovable, then the exercise is classified as isometric. If a body muscle moves against the force, it is called isotonic. However, the same principle of overloading the muscles for them to grow applies. Whether you choose to use free weights or use resistance bands, it is important to warm up for five to ten minutes before starting. Take a brisk walk or ride a stationary bike, for example. When lifting weights, spend about 20-40 minutes, three times a week (recommended). A typical set should contain only 4-6 weight repetitions; only two or three sets. If you can do ten repetitions, the weight is too light. Remember the key is to overload the muscle so that it will grow stronger.
