Go Green: Let's Not Wait
Go Green as a phrase stands out as a prominent slogan in 2010. It seems that everyone is jumping on that bandwagon or about to. More and more rhetoric and advertising proclaim the merits of going green--and rightfully so! Saving our immediate environment and the planet itself is a priority as we watch the effects of global warming and man-made pollution take place before our eyes. We now realize the merit of taking more responsibility for our own health and that of the earth. GreenWorldTree.Com is dedicated to just that. Its pages are divided among all major areas of green living: sustaining a healthy self by monitoring what we eat, drink and breathe, maintaining a clean and healthy house, caring for our landscape, notably lawn and garden, and then, of course, caretaking our Mother Earth upon which we, as well as our children's children, will live.
Go Green and Save Money
Going green is even sweeter when you can save money. Developing that green mindset will save the average consumer significant bucks by just paying attention to his or her household. Simple adjustments such as replacing regular, incandescent bulbs with LED (light-emitting diodes) or CFL (compact florescent light)bulbs or turning off a plug strip to which your television and cable box are plugged saves money. Other ideas about ways to go green? How about using dimmer switches and energy-saving thermostats which allow you to control the heat? Or just conserve a little on the water you use--buy an aerating shower head for the bathroom. There are more ideas to green living and saving money that can be found in this website at green home. More ideas will be added throughout the year.
Go to Green Power
Increasingly, the federal government is looking long and hard at alternative sources of energy. Homeowners, as well, could benefit from looking in this direction. Green power translates as using the power of the sun, wind, water or earth itself to generate cheaper energy while not being wasteful or contributing to the destruction of the planet. Now available are federal tax credits as of January 1, 2209. They include tax credits for home improvement as well as plug-in hybrid cars. President Obama's stimulus bill was signed on February 17 and raises the tax credit from 10% to a maximum of 30%. However, some improvements such as geothermal heat pumps, solar water heaters, and solar panels are not subject to maximum credit amounts. For further information go to the government website.
