Growing Wheat Grass

Wheat grass is an alkaline based plant that provides several health benefits due to the high number of nutrients, minerals, phytonutrients, and carotenoids it contains. Growing wheat grass is an affordable way to make sure you get all of your nutrients, as well as your daily recommended serving of fruits and vegetables. Most people do not eat nearly enough fruits and vegetables, which is why they are so overweight. Without nutrients, all you've got is calories and fat.

It's no surprise that most everyone develops some sort of health problem related to the way they eat at a very early age. Juicing wheat grass will give you all of the energy you need to become more active and feel fuller. A lot of people are into making wheat grass juice, since it is considered the easiest way to consume it; however, it can also be eaten plain. Some health bars charge $3-$5 per shot, but fortunately, growing wheat grass doesn't cost a dime. Some of the common benefits of wheat grass include its ability to improve digestive problems, lower blood pressure, minimize tooth decay, improve metabolism, fight fatigue, and improve metabolism.

Follow These Steps ....

If you're interested in growing wheat grass, you'll need some wheat grain, a newspaper, some nutrient-rich organic soil, a juicer, scissors, water, and a couple of containers to grow the grass inside of. To begin, place the wheat grain inside of a container full of water for at least six to eight hours. You can do this either during the day or at night, it's your choice.

As soon as the wheat grain has been soaked with water, fill your chosen containers with nutrient-rich organic soil. Next, spread the wheat grains over the soil. After that, take a small amount of soil and cover the top of the wheat grains until a small layer is formed. Make sure that the soil is not sprinkled on too thick, but also make sure the wheat grains are not visible.

The next step requires that you cover each container with a piece of newspaper and wait approximately 24 hours. After sitting for 24 hours, slightly water each container and then cover the plants back up with newspaper. When watering your plants, only use a small amount of water to make sure the soil stays moist, but not wet. Too much water will spoil the growth process and not enough will cause the plants to dry out.

... And Finally

Water your plants each day and continue covering them with newspaper until the grass begins to sprout. Once visible, it's safe discard the newspaper. Use your scissors to cut out the appropriate sizes of newspaper to cover your containers. As soon as you've started growing wheat grass, you can begin using your juicer. Making wheat grass juice is relatively simple. Just make sure that you rinse your grass thoroughly before juicing. You'll need approximately one tray of grass to make one 8 ounce glass of juice. Be sure to obtain a quality wheat grass juicer from Omega or another reputable manufacturer. Both manual and automatic are available to use.

Growing wheat grass usually only takes about 10 days, so it's well worth the wait. It's recommended that you begin growing quite a few grains at the same time to make sure that you end up with a reasonable amount of wheat grass. It's best to start off consuming no more than one glass per day due to its high potency. Most people usually don't need to drink anymore than two to three glasses tops after they've been drinking it for a while. Within a few short days, you'll start noticing that you have more energy, your constipation issues vanish, and that you're a lot less hungry.
